In today's world, the field of technology and social media shape behaviour and popular culture. Acts of capturing, sharing and uploading moments on a daily basis has currently become a norm for social media users. SNAP NATION presents a series of data visualisation on the growing cultural phenomenon of ephemeral photography within the digital age. The artist recorded 5056 clips, over a period of 3 months from 25 Snapchat and Instagram Stories users, and eventually compiled the clips chronologically into 45 videos to reveal several underlying trends and sub-trends, including behavioural traits across all users. It is through the artist's rigour in recapturing what is gone that ultimately provides tangible evidence to better illustrate society's unnoticed cultural obsession with capturing the everyday, where social media users are now drawn to creating content for momentary consumption.
