This exhibition consists of 75 posters from 67 Iranian graphic designers that have been organized by Mehrdad Sedaghat in two different categories: Professionals and students. Posters in professional category were selected by Onish Aminelahi and in Student category were selected by Hosein Eskandari and Ladan Bahmani.
There will be a public skype lecture about graphic design in Iran by Onish Aminelahi on the closing reception on March 16th, 5 PM - 7 PM.
The main purpose of this exhibition is to present various generations of Iranian graphic design to the students of Michigan State University and introduce the Iranian graphic design as a different paradigm which uses a different visual culture and content.
According to the Curators of this exhibition this is a great opportunity to show the world how Graphic Design will act in bringing the nations together while politicians want something else!
A report of Onish Aminelahi's Lecture at Michigan State University, USA
This public SKYPE lecture which was held in Gallery 114, Department of Art, Art History and Design, Michigan State University, took about 1.5 hour. At first Aminelahi, thanked the curators and the University for this exhibition and he stated that he's glad that graphic designers of the two countries are building good relationship while political situation goes to some other direction. He started his lecture by showing some beautiful photos of Iran. Then he categorized Iran's history of Graphic design and presented some slides about Graphic design before and after the 1979 revolution. He summarized how IGDS (Iranian Graphic Designers' Society) was established. In the next section of his lecture, Onish showed some photos from the graphic events in Iran by participation of international graphic designers whitin the past few years such as Stefan Sagmeister, Ken Cato, Ben Bos, Shigeo Fokuda, Isidro Ferrer, and.... There was Q and A session at the end of the lecture. This exhibition and lecture was organized by Mehrdad Sedaghat and it will be held in other venues in other states as well. نمایشگاهی از پوسترهای ایرانی از تاریخ ۲ الی ۲۷ اسفند ماه با نام باغ ایرانی در گالری ۱۱۴ دپارتمان هنر، تاریخ هنر و دیزاین دانشگاه ایالتی میشیگان آمریکا برپا شد.این نمایشگاه شامل ۷۵ پوستر از ۶۷ طراح ایرانی بود که به همت مهرداد صداقت در دو بخش حرفه ای و دانشجویی و در دو گالری مجزا برپا شد. آثار این نمایشگاه با همکاری اونیش امین الهی در بخش حرفه ای و در بخش دانشجویی با همکاری حسین اسکندری و لادن بهمنی انتخاب و گرداوری شدند.این نمایشگاه تلاش داشت با ارایه پوسترهایی منتخب از تمامی نسل های طراحان ایرانی، دانشجویان این دانشگاه را هرچه بیشتر با گرافیک دیزاین ایرانی به عنوان گفتمانی متفاوت از دیزاین، آشنا گرداند که برای رسیدن به پیام، از فرهنگ و محتوای تصویری و نگارشی متفاوتی استفاده می کند. بنابر نظر برگزارکنندگان این نمایشگاه، این فرصتی مهم بود تا بار دیگر نشان دهیم که گرافیک دیزاین چگونه بهانه ای ایجاد میکند برای نزدیکتر شدن ملت ها در حالی که سیاست این روزها به گونه ای متفاوت عمل می کند.در تاریخ ۱۶ مارچ ۲۰۱۷ و همزمان با اختتامیه نمایشگاه پوسترهای "باغ ایرانی" در میشیگان، سخنرانی اونیش امینالهی برگزار شد.این سخنرانی که در گالری شماره ۱۱۴ دپارتمان هنر، تاریخ هنر و طراحی دانشگاه از طریق اسکایپ و در کنار نمایش آثار برگزار میشد، حدود یک ساعت و نیم به طول انجامید. اونیش امین الهی صحبتهایش را با نشان دادن تصاویری از ایران آغاز کرد. سپس؛ دسته‌بندی‌ای از تاریخ شکل‌گیری گرافیک ایران تا انقلاب و بعد از آن و همچنین شکل‌گیری انجمن صنفی طراحان گرافیک ایران، به صورت خلاصه و به همراه تصاویر مربوطه ارایه کرد. در انتها او برای آشنایی دانشجویان آمریکایی با فضای امن ایران، تصاویری از طراحان برجسته‌ای که در طول بیست سال گذشته به ایران سفر کردند نمایش داد و این جلسه با پرسش و پاسخ دانشجویان پایان یافت.این سخنرانی با ترجمه همزمان آناهیتا سیف‌الهی و مهرداد صداقت همراه بود. لازم به ذکر است به زودی نمایشگاه "باغ ایرانی" در چندین ایالت دیگر نیز به نمایش در خواهد آمد.
